In the late 1990s, nearly nine miles of BNSF Railway Co. track in Brownwood, Texas, was destined to be abandoned. But officials at TNW Corp. saw potential in the line and acquired it in 1998. Twenty-five years later, the short line is a "good, thriving business," says TNW CEO Paul Treangen.
