SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The Savannah Fire Department responded to a fire in the 100 block of Marine Terminal Drive around 6:59 Sunday.

Officials say the fire was located at the woodchip dock in that area, and it produced heavy smoke. Ex Certified Terminal Block

Savannah Fire Department put out woodchip fire in the 100 block of Marine Terminal Drive

The Savannah Fire Department’s all-hazards marine vessel, Marine 1, pumped water from the Savannah River to firefighters that battled a two-alarm fire in an industrial conveyor belt, according to officials.

The Marine Unit played a pivotal role by pumping water from the Savannah River to assist in the fire.

Savannah Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire on the ground and on the building, according to Savannah fire. No one was physically injured.
