Magnet separator for poorly flowing powders - Chemical Engineering

The recently developed 10,000-Gauss, rotating cleanflow magnet (photo) filters magnetic and paramagnetic particles out of poorly flowing, greasy powders in the food, pharma and chemical industries. The magnet rotor is composed of seven strong magnet bars, equipped with neodymium-iron-boron magnets, each with a diameter of 32 mm. This is 40% thicker than regular magnetic bars and also that used by the magnet manufacturer. The magnetic separator is suitable for free-fall lines and captures both iron and AISI 304 and AISI 316 particles as small as 30µm from cocoa or milk powder, for example. The separator is available in three sizes, of which the largest model is suitable for product flows of up to 45 m3/h. — Goudsmit Magnetics B.V., Waalre, the Netherlands
